Organic Face Care

organic-skin-careOrganic face care is very different from the beauty care we use for the rest of our parts on our body.  The face includes many sebaceous glands and tiny vellus hairs, this is why beauty products are meant for intended areas of the skin and react best where they are intended.  The face can be considered as a whole; however, the eyelids and the lips represent unique facial areas that demand separate judgment and care as well.  The face is the most complicated and challenging surface of the body.  The face is the purveyor of our representation, our personality, our health, and our age.  The facial skin is the thinnest on the body, expect for that around the eyelids.  This means the facial skin is very accessible to damage, but also easily healed. What you put on your face and skin is as important as what you eat.  Or, in other words, natural, organic cosmetics are as good for you as natural, organic foods.

They are 4 simple rules for good organic face care:

In order to maintain healthy facial skin, you must cleanse, exfoliate, tone, and moisturize.  Even if it takes just 5 minutes out of your day, its time you address your organic face care routine.  Each step plays its own important role, skipping one and the effects will be far less impressive. This routine is meant to increase the lifespan of beautiful skin and help in detoxification of unhealthy toxins in the body.

washing_faceStep 1) Cleanse: Skin cleansers work as emulsifiers to lift dirt, excess natural skin oils, bacteria, cosmetics and exfoliate the surface skin cells to aid your skin to breathe and achieve the correct nourishment when followed by toning and moisturizing. Cleansing is a step that many abuse with overdoing or doing too aggressively. This can be very harmful, especially if there are pimples or a sunburn present. Those with acne may over cleanse vigorously because they think its drying the oils out, when truthfully they should be applying oil to prevent the skin from producing its own! If our skin looses water and oil, it will only react to secrete more, creating more bacteria. Our skin needs to be nourished not washed away and dried out synthetically. There are many organic cleansers that can help your skin with a gentle daily regimen. Don't be lazy about your regimen, falling into bed with that glamorous makeup and debris from the long day, may not look so pretty in the morning and your clogging your pores.  Don't use an exfoliating cleanser when your face is broke out, this can lead to broken capillaries. Depending on the type of mood your face is in, you might find it beneficial to have more than one type of cleanser to prepare you for changes. There are 4 types of facial cleansers: cleansing oils, bar soaps, foaming cleansers, and non foaming cleansers.

Step 2) Exfoliate: New cells push up from the lowest layer of the epidermis and move toward the surface, it can take 28 to 45 days.  At the end of the cycle, at the surface, the flattened and dried up cells are shed. You should exfoliate at least 3-5 times a week, depending on how abrasive your scrub is. You may want to exfoliate more in warmer climates because sweat can act like a glue and cluster the dead skin cells together.  Take it easy on the areas that have may have acne spreading, and a nonabrasive might deliver better results if you are experiencing allot of acne, a sunburn, or irritation. Exfoliation helps the natural development along by giving those cells an extra push. We strongly suggest natural acids and astringents, abrasive scrubs or textured cleansing clothes that can help you easily remove the skin scale and increase texture and shine. You will see that your face has a glow, and your makeup also glides on much smoother after frequent exfoliation. There are two types of exfoliates: abrasive and nonabrasive.

Skin looses its texture and sheen if not hydrated properly. Toners are refreshing and help to keep your pores clear, revitalized, remove dead skin cells, soap residue, and oils from the skin. Toners also help hydrate, prevent acne, soothe sunburns or skin irritations, blanch post acne marks, and brown spots. Alcohol is a major ingredient in most conventional toners, you will find it best to select a gentle organic face toner, especially if you want to use one in your daily regimen. There are 3 types of toners: face fresheners, mists, and astringents. Depending on the type of condition your face is in, you might find it favorable to have more than one type of toner to prepare you for unexpected alterations that may occur.

Step 4) Moisturize: Even if you have oily skin, even if you have acne, moisturizers can deliver antibacterial and soothing agents to preserve the skin's youthful appearance. For those dealing with very matured wrinkles skin, moisturizers deliver antioxidant and softening ingredients. No matter your skin's current condition today you must moisturize, and help your skin to prevent water loss, and neutralize free radicals. The more water in our skin, the adaptable and wrinkle-free the skin will be. There are 3 types of moisturizers: balms/creams, oils/lotions, and gels. Moisturizers are also made of emollients, humectants, emulsifiers, penetration enhancers, and active ingredients. Depending on the type of condition your face is in, you might find it useful to have more than one type of moisturizer to prepare you for surprising changes.

Enhancing Even Skin And Damage Prevention:girl_water

The image of healthy facial skin is due to abundant light reflection.  This light reflection is due to an even surface.  Causes ofuneven facial skin include scars, facial growths such as moles, skin disease such as acne, and clinging dead skin cells from the stratum corneum, known as corneocytes.  Little can be done cosmetically to affect facial scars and moles (so stop picking your face)!  With advancing age, the cells do not recycle as fast leading to retained dead skin scale.  The skin scale or dander caused by no daily organic face care regimen, creates an uneven skin surface.

Acne and wrinkles seem to be the highest of concern for women when it comes to the face.  Forget about those toxic acne treatments, acne washes, and expensive anti-aging creams that are costing you a fortune!
